Your last post focuses on the ending of your novel.
Authors of YA fiction attempt to make their stories exciting by incorporating twists and conflicts in the plot in order to keep the interest of their readers until the very end. At the same time the stories need to be realistic and believable.
Think about the problems that occurred in your novel. Are all the issues and conflicts resolved by the end of the novel? Did you like how the novel ended or did you expect something different? Was the ending realistic and believable? Explain your answer.
At the end of your post, write a few sentences about your own overall impression of the novel. Did you like the book? Why or why not? Was it relatable to teenagers' lives?
You don’t have to write a question or complete responses to this final post. However, you are welcome to comment (appropriately) to your classmates’ final posting.
You've all done amazing work on this project...I'm very proud of you!! :) Miss R

Blog#3-Conflict
This week your blog centres around CONFLICT
Conflict is the central struggle or problem of a narrative, which moves the plot forward and motivates the protagonist (main character). Conflict is an important element of fiction because the readers can learn from the successes and failures of the main character and apply the lessons learned to their own life.
Now that you have gotten further into your novel, you should be more aware of how the main character deals with his/her problems. Conflict can be between two or more characters, it can situational, and sometimes the decision the character makes to solve (deal with, or get out of) one problem leads to another problem.
Explain a situation in which your protagonist is confronted with a problem.
How does he/she handle it? Explain whether the outcome was positive or negative.
Don't forget to write a question at the end of your blog for your classmates to respond to!

Character-Blog#2
Character~Your blog this week centres around the characters in your novel.
Authors of YA fiction need to make their characters realistic and believable in order to make the story captivating for a teenage audience.Describe the main character, focusing on their personality and character traits.
The characters in YA fiction often have difficult decisions to make, and sometimes they make the wrong choices.By not always making the right choice, the person shows a weakness or a flaw in their character. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because it shows that they are just like any other teen.
Describe the weakness or flaw that you see exists in the main character[s] in your novel.
Make sure you pose a question at the end of your blog for your classmates to respond to.

Blog #1
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to our White Pine Independent Novel Study Unit.Your first task is:
1) Post your initial reaction to your chosen novel. Give a general overview of what the novel is about so that people reading your blog will have some understanding of the characters, initial conflicts and topics within the story.
Some information that would be useful to your classmates would be:
a) What is going on as the novel begins?
b) What is the intial or first problem faced by the main character?
c) How does the author get you to read on or hold your interest?
2) At the end of your post, pose a question for your classmates to answer. The goal is to use this blog as a forum for on-line dialogue with your peers.
3) Review and re-read your post before you publish. You want to make sure that people who read it can understand what you are writing. If you are unsure about a sentence or your concluding question, ask Ms.Reesor for help
